Career Day for students interested in building business at the College OWL in Detmold– Grotemeier Engineers present with information stand
The second Career Day at the College of East Westphalia-Lippe in Detmold on April 2, 2014 was under the motto: "Theory meets Practice". More than a dozen companies from Architecture, Interior Architecture and Civil Engineering presented at this regional fair. Grotemeier Engineers was represented at this Career Day with an information stand. Students had the opportunity to learn about career planning and job entry after graduation.
Grotemeier Engineering received an award for the second section of the expansion building for the manufacturing plant of the firm NORDEX in RostockThe planned expansion of the hall for the manufacture of rotor blades for wind turbines is about 10,500 m². The new Hall 6 with an overall size of approximately 228 m x 46 m is executed in steel construction and has several one-piece overhead cranes with a lifting capacity of max. 20 tons each. Every single crane spans the entire width of the hall and is suspended at three points from the roof structure.
The special statical challenge is that the hall is built without supports and is equipped with several one-piece suspension bridges.
Grotemeier Engineers confidently start in the new year
The Grotemeier Firm successfully takes on new business fields in demolition planning of complex properties and structural engineering of industrial facilities.
Grotemeier Engineers supervises the dismantling of the ca. 35 m high boiler and engine house for the decommissioned coal-fired power plant in Bielefeld. In order to secure the individual stages of construction and the conversion of individual building parts, Grotemeier Engineers were commissioned to compute the structural design and the demolition planning.
